On 28 May 2006...

Three years ago, baby Reyanne arrived... till this day, I could still remember every detail (though my memory of other things seemed to fail me...) I think I want to jot down what happened exactly... on the day, my little princess came to the world :)

That was 2 days after school closed, a SUNDAY...my 1st Sunday in June 2006. My gynae Dr WK Tan said my due date is 060606, 6 June 2006. I thought it was a wonderful date... but then little Reyanne couldn't wait till 060606, she decided to come out on 28052006. :)

That morning, I jumped up from bed at 9am because my water bag started to leak...as it was my first experience, I didn't know, at first I thought it's... shhh shhh.. haha. then I realised, it's different...I couldn't control it at all...

We had planned to go all the way to the West to get some accessories for her, but this unforseen circumstances made us change our plans. We were halfway to our destination when we decided to head for Thomson Medical Centre. We reached there at about 11am, did the registration and they pushed me in to what's-that-called? 'waiting ward' or whatever...

Had my sandwich there...and happily waited. Roy sent mum back (as she was with us in the car) then he made his way back to the hospital. This Papa-to-be happily set up his laptop and did his work while poor Mummy-to-be lied on the bed in pain, as contraction began at 1plus in the afternoon.

After sometime, I thought I had already reached the limit, couldn't tolerate the pain anymore, then I requested for the Epidural. But, it seemed to take forever for that guy to reach the ward to do the injection. When he reached the ward, he still chatted with the nurse on duty and time seemed to move by sooooo slowly... I was in so much pain that I was actually scolding him for taking his own sweet time. And, guess what, the epidural didn't take effect on my whole body. Half of my body was numb, but the other half could still feel the pain. The nurse said,'maybe it didn't 'flow' properly.'...whatever excuse or reason given, I couldn't help thinking why I was unlucky !

Anyway, I waited till 5pm when Dr Tan came in to check on me. She said "ok, ready to deliver!"
Initially, I thought I had to push for a long long time, then bit by bit the baby would come out... but it wasn't that way! Dr Tan asked me to get ready and followed her cue to PUSH... ok... I think I was a pretty good student, baby Reyanne came out at the third push ! Reyanne came out at 5.26pm that day.

After my gynae 'finished' the rest of her 'work', I was already busy sms-ing people at 5.45pm :)
Haha... hard to believe someone who just delivered could look so energetic... (how lucky am I)

ok..that's my 'recollection' of Reyanne's arrival... and now she is already 3 years old!! Oh my goodness...how time flies... :)

Reyanne...vain ?

Already 1 hour past Mother's Day...well we just returned from Cousin's wedding, so can't be in time. :)

Reyanne is a vain girl. ( my fault ?? :P)
She has been choosing her own dresses, shoes to match, which colour hairclips to match with her clothes, and even socks (whether the socks will be seen if she is wearing that pair of boots)
Sometimes, when we are not in a hurry, I will try to find something to suit her preference for the day. But when we are in a rush, I get frustrated easily. When she doesn't want to wear the clothes I pick, (and if I decide to shorten the time for her to make decision), I would only give her two choices. I would be firm and said it's either this or that...if not no more! It works all the time.

Once, she suddenly picked a pair of sandals that she seldom wears. Didn't really ask her the reason...but it's Papa who said, "Oh... there are fish on the sandals, so can match the fish-shape hairclip she chose that day." (Mummy just rolled her eyes)

We bought this pair of white boots for her sometime ago. Her feet have grown bigger, so I think it's time to wear that pair of boots. She wore a pair of lacy socks which are above ankles that day, so the lace could be seen - pretty. Few days later, I pick another pair of socks without lace , and a bit shorter than the lacy pair. After putting on her boots, she told me,"Mummy, this pair of socks...cannot see...want to change." (Ok...fine...change)

Not only once, she told me, "Mummy, 我要好漂亮的衣服。”
Mummy can only answer, "Mummy 给你穿的都很漂亮的啦。”

Girls are girls.... will want to follow what mummy does.
She wants to apply the hair moisturiser / hair cream I use.
She likes to hold the lipstick I put on the dressing table.
Once, (longgg ago) she could play with a small box of jewellery (shiny stones) for more than half an hour without losing concentration / without disturbing us...

Today, she saw me putting make up and curling eye-lashes.
She kept staring at me and kept asking "Mummy, 你在做什么?”
She wanted to apply my eye shadow..I said little kids no need to apply.
After I finish my make-up, she was so cute...she said, "Mummy, 你很漂亮,快点给爸爸看。”
(er... you mean... when Mummy doesn't put on make-up....Mummy is ugly ???)

Her favourite colours are pink (for clothes) and green (for sweets).
Once she commented my black T-shirt is not nice...so I ask her what colour is nice.
To her, green is 好漂亮 and pink is cute. (yeah... she likes pink...just like me)

En en can read few Chinese words

Few days ago, I bought 2 books for En en. There are 2 languages - English and Mandarin.
I was reading the book to her when suddenly she pointed to the Chinese character 小 and read it. Though surprised, I think I remember her Chinese teacher mentioned once that she was able to recognise the words learnt the day before, but I didn't really put much thought into it.

So, to prompt further, I asked if there are any other words she knows. She looked at the words and pointed to 一 and read it too. Therefore I took out a piece of paper and write a few more simple words, she can read 一,二,三,四, 下雨,小 and 大。Mummy is so glad she is learning things in school. :)

Good girl, keep it up!

Ryan, when's your turn?

When kids cough....

These few days, the house has been quite....smelly. Not because mummy didn't clean. Because dear Ryan had been coughing recently and he vomitted his milk onto the relatively new carpet in the living room... ARGH...

After drinking western medicine, it doesn't seem to sooth his throat. Therefore 3 days ago, I gave him 'adult's medicine' - Sea coconut cough syrup...and I think it is working. At least now, at night, I don't hear him coughing in his sleep.

If he is having cough, I will decrease the amount of milk at night, just before sleep, for the same reason - vomitting. Surprisingly, for past 3 nights, he has been sleeping THROUGHOUT till at least 6am. WOW!! Good boy! Please let mummy concentrate on marking at night... Keke.

Ok, mummy got to go for level meeting...
